Library Charter

Library Charter - what we expect of you and what you can expect of us.

We aim to provide a purposeful learning environment, which encourages all pupils to strive towards high standards of personal achievement.

We ask that you do your best to:

  • ask for help if you need it
  • be sensible and responsible when using the Library and avoid disturbing other people.
  • Aim to keep noise to a reasonable level, so that others using the Library can concentrate on their own work and reading.
  • put your bags and coats on the shelves provided when you come into the Library. Space is unfortunately not available for bags in the Library.
  • keep your food and drink to areas of the school where eating and drinking is allowed. (Exceptions are made by Library staff for special events, clubs etc.) Water is acceptable in the Library.
  • have all books and other items stamped at the desk before you leave.
  • return all books and other items on time to the desk so that others can enjoy them; remember to have them renewed for longer if you haven’t quite finished them.
  • help us by giving us your comments and suggestions

We will do our best to:

  • be friendly and helpful
  • make sure that the Library is a pleasant and welcoming place to be
  • make sure that the Library is open for you to use throughout and beyond the school day
  • help you to find the information, books or other resources you need
  • make sure that we provide a range of books on different topics and by different authors
  • provide areas for you to read and to study
  • make sure that the computers are working
  • hold special events, competitions and displays throughout the year
  • listen to your opinions and suggestions

We hope you enjoy using the Library!
